Contract Bookkeepers started out as one woman on a mission to help her friend be a better business owner.

After college Jennifer England relocated back to her hometown outside of Seattle to be closer to family. A close friend had a budding business as an electrician, had hired some employees without filing any related state or federal paperwork, and was drowning in letters demanding past due filings and payments. He reached out for help and that's how it all started. That business now has over 30 employees and makes 8 figures a year.

One client grew to two, then five, then twenty at her peak before a cancer diagnosis caused her to change her business model. She started England Accounting in 2016, and after years of getting tax leads (heads up: we don't do IRS taxes!) she rebranded again in 2025 to represent the nature of the business - providing full-cycle bookkeeping services on a contract basis.
